The What’s So Cool About Manufacturing? video contests excite students to explore cool manufacturing careers and produce profiles of companies throughout Pennsylvania. Teams of students and teacher coaches receive camera equipment and professional guidance as they learn to script, record, and edit their video stories.

WSCM VIRTUAL PROGRAM SAMPLES

VERSION 1

This video showcases an example of the basic requirement. There is a voiceover with no music. It could be made completely with PowerPoint/ Google slides and screen capture app.

VERSION 2

This video showcases the basic video but with music added, some video of the narrator, and a couple more graphics. It could be made in Zoom and finalized in an editing app.

VERSION 3

This video showcases the Level 1 video but added an animation tech tool for creativity. This uses multiple apps and finalized in an editing app.

NOTE ABOUT AUDIO

Please use some headphones and make sure your interviews are on both channels – left and right speakers. If they are not, you will need to get them on both of those speakers. With some software, this simply means making the interview’s AUDIO TRACK “mono” or converting to STEREO. However, more current versions of iMovie does not have a quick fix for this. To fix this, you can use a free and well-known program called AUDACITY. Please see the links below to download this software and a great tutorial on how to use it.
